Please read this website in conjunction with my art homepage Homepage - www.Ingrid-Benning.de It includes a C.V, information about my higher education in England in psychology, art and teacher training, as well as the important personal experiences I had while working with J.W. Goethe’s colour apprenticeship. A gallery shows examples of my artistic work consisting of oil and water colour paintings, collage and engravings. Apart from Goethe, my artistic work was also influenced by William Blake, Odilon Redon, the Symbolists and the Im- and Expressionists. More than two hundred years ago and about one hundred years before Albert Einstein surprised the world with his famous energy-formula, William Blake wrote these lines:  “If the doors of perception were cleansed, every thing would appear to man as it is, infinite“ They inspired the musicians of „The Doors“, “The Moody Blues” and  many other people in the 1960s and also made the poem about energy  from Blakes’ Marriage of Heaven and Hell well known. It remains a  riddle to many people until this day, unless they gain some knowledge  about the wisdom of the chakras:

Man has no Body distinct from his Soul,

For that called Body is a portion of Soul,

Discerned by the (twelve) Senses,

The chief inlets of Soul in this Age.

Energy is the only Life

And  IS  from the Body;

And Reason is the bound

Or outward circumference of Energy.

Energy is Eternal Delight.
